QUESTIONS:

1) What considerations led you to modify/change your original plan when you were in the process of developing your project?
Originally, I wanted to have my face be painted in warm colours with green and blue (cooler colours) highlights. I then made the decision to paint my background with warmer colours and I wanted my face to stand out. I thought that green would be a good but still subtle contrast to the purple and yellow.

2) What evidence can be found in your portfolio (Instagram and website) of how the exploration and revision stages changed your original idea?
You can see in my portfolio how, in my first few practices on my hand, I have many random lines to try to show highlights. For my good copy, I worked on having each highlight be thought out and where an actual highlight would be.

3) What emotions do you associate with the colours you picked for your design? How might other peoples associations of colour change the way they feel when looking at your work?
When I look at my design I think of the emotion happiness. I think that when other people look at my work they will also see happiness because the colors I used were bright and cheery.

4) What criteria would you use when selecting an art work to present to your class? Would you use different criteria when selecting a work for a community art show? Why? What, if anything, would you do differently when creating your art work if you knew it was going to be displayed in a public space? Why?
When showing my artwork to my class I would try to make it more of a guided painting.  When showing my artwork to the community I would want to have more of my own style. I would want the painting to be more of my own style because I wouldn't have to follow many guidelines. I don't think that I would change anything about the painting that I made if it was going to be displayed in public because while still staying on the guidelines I was able to show my own artistic style.

5) What are some techniques you used to create the effect of light in a painting?
A technique I used when showing the effect of light in my painting was putting a darker shade next to my lighter shade.
