Body Casting

MY PROCESS:
For my hand, I did photo transferring, splatter painting, and zentangles. For photo transferring, I put down a layer of gel medium and then placed the quotes face down. After waiting 4 hours I rubbed off the paper with water.

MY REASONS:
I chose to photo transfer quotes because I love quotes and I chose quotes that represent who I am. I also did the quotes backward, so to read them you would have to use a mirror because you have to work for things in life. I also decided to do zentangles because zentangles can have intricate and simple designs which stand for how day-to-day life can change. I chose to do splatter paint in my favourite colours because you can't control where the paint goes, you have to roll with the punches.

MY EVOLUTION & REFLECTION:
My original plan was to do photo transfer, zentangles, and mountains. I ended up not doing mountains because the zentangles and photo transfer were enough. I was most happy with the zentangles because I didn't repeat any patterns and I took a lot of time to make sure the sharpie was going onto the plaster. One struggle I had was getting the sharpie to stick in the plaster without it crumbling off. The way that I overcame this was by taking a lot of time to do the zentangles and to do each line with lots of ink. If I had more time I would have liked to work on my photo transferring because I wasn't able to get off all of the excess paper.
